We have been reading Ready , Steady Ghost! We discussed the story and predicted what we thought might happen in the story.
The children have been very busy learning about Autumn. They have painted autumn trees and created hedgehogs from clay. We also worked on cutting and sticking skills.
We have had a very busy month this month. It has been lots of fun! The children took part in some chair yoga which they really enjoyed, we have also been doing Aistear and working hard during P.E.
Literacy: Poetry Analysis: Mrs. World: A Global Warning. We analysed our English poem in our pods focusing on onomatopoeia and personification.
MAYO FOR SAM! There is great support for Mayo in the All Ireland Final tomorrow. Hopefully Sam is coming home to the west!
3rd and 4th class: Have a look at some of the work that has been going on in the 3rd and 4th classroom this term!
We had a great day on Friday when we had our Sports Day. We finished off the day with a special treat. We had Supermac's and some lovely ice creams. Active Week was brilliant!
This week we were very lucky to be able to use the Bricí Spraoi equipment. The children really enjoyed it. They built zoo animals, forts and dinosaurs as well as many other things.
We really enjoyed being active this week. We did lots of activities including races, throwing and catching, dance and yoga.
Art: Construction- We are designing and building our art constructions using the title of "History" as a stimulus. Some have chosen to construct the Titanic, Egyptian Pyramids, The Statue of Liberty, a catapult, Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii and the GPO.
Report Writing Genre: We have been researching the Nobel False Widow Spider this month on the school tablets. We displayed our facts on information posters.
We had great fun planting in the polytunnel today. We planted vegetables and we are really looking forward to watching them grow!
