The whole school participated in the Table Tennis Takeover Day as part of Active Schools. We had great fun and really improved our hand-eye coordination.

THE DAILY MILE: We have signed up to the Daily Mile. Today was our first day walking and jogging around the yard. We look forward to improving our social, mental, physical and emotional health! 03/10/23

ACTIVE SCHOOL: WALK A MILE WITH A SMILE: daily walking challenge for September. We have clocked up an amazing 21.93km in total since we returned to school. We calculated the average distance walked each day to be 3.13km. We converted miles to km. Well done everyone! We are aiming for our Active Flag this year! 08/09/23

ACTIVE SCHOOL: TABLE TENNIS: We have invested in four retractable nets for use in the classroom in preparation for Table Tennis Takeover Day on the 29th September as part of our Active School. We watched a video to learn about correct grip, drills to improve our hand-eye coordination and forehand/backhand drive. We set up our outdoor table tennis for use at lunch. 04/09/23

Our new sport committee for the year ahead has been set up in 5th and 6th class. Our duties will involve collecting and storing sports equipment, leading the other classes in the Fyffes Fit exercises and organising tournaments. 31/8/23

ACTIVE WEEK 2021: 8TH- 11TH JUNE

We are taking part in Active Week from the 8th- 11th June. The whole school are participating in various activities such as basketball, soccer, relay, climbing wall, circuits, Joe Wicks Workouts, yoga, games, bowling, Bricí Spraoi and games. We are having a great week....even though some days we have had rain! That won't stop us in Garrafrauns N.S! :)

​ACTIVE SCHOOL WEEK 2020: ACTIVE HOME WEEK

The children of Garrafrauns N.S have been engaging with the Active Week activities which were assigned by teachers this week. Children kept an activity log of their daily exercise and submitted photographs of their homemade obstacle courses and hopscotch challenges they took part in. Well done to all who participated and keep up the 60 mins of physical activity daily!

INTEGRATION WITH MATHS: We have integrated length in maths with the long jump in P.E. Well done to Lily who jumped a distance of 2m 09cm and Aoibhinn who jumped a distance of 2m 28cm.
