RECOUNT WRITING GENRE: Digital Literacy in 3rd and 4th class: We are typing our recounts this week using Microsoft Word. We are using Spell check to help with the spelling of tricky words.

MATHS WEEK: STEM: We took part in a 2D and 3D shape construction activity today in 5th and 6th class as part of Maths Week 2025

DIGITAL LITERACY: We are working on physical geography projects this term in 5th and 6th class. We are researching how beaches, caves, rivers and volcanoes are formed. We will present our PowerPoint presentations to the rest of the school.

CROSS COUNTRY: Well done to all who participated in the Cross Country this month in Briarhill.

Numeracy stations: We are participating in daily maths stations in 5th and 6th class. We are working on our maths language, constructing angles and circles, Khan Academy and Academic games, maths games and a revision station.

GREEN SCHOOLS: Poly tunnel harvest for October. Our committee leave a shared box of fruit and veg for our community.

ACTIVE SCHOOLS: SKIPPING CHALLENGE: We are continuing with daily skipping this year. Some of our pupils have progressed onto double unders! Great effort everyone!

GREEN SCHOOLS COMMITTEE 2025: We were delighted to return to school and find a robust harvest of vegetables in our poly-tunnel. We have grown garlic, courgettes and our pumpkins are thriving!

Novel reading groups: We are reading a whole class novel this term called Pony by R.J Palacio. We are using the novel for our vocabulary expansion work also. 5th and 6th class.
